Resettlement Action Plan (RAP)

Preparation, implementation support, and monitoring of RAPs in line with national law and international best practice.

When projects involve physical displacement or economic displacement of communities, TRES Consult prepares and supports the implementation of Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) and Abbreviated RAPs in line with Tanzanian land acquisition and resettlement legislation and international standards including IFC Performance Standard 5 and the World Bank Operational Policy OP 4.12.

Our RAP services encompass socioeconomic baseline surveys, project-affected household census and asset inventories, legal and institutional framework analysis, entitlement framework development, compensation valuation, livelihood restoration strategy design, and the preparation of grievance management mechanisms. We also advise on and prepare Resettlement Policy Frameworks (RPFs) and Livelihood Restoration Plans (LRPs) for programmatic investments. Post-RAP implementation, TRES Consult provides monitoring and evaluation support to verify that affected persons have restored or improved their livelihoods in accordance with international standards and project commitments.
